Millville Water Utilities drinking water meets and surpasses all Federal and State drinking water standards. The Utility supplies excellent potable water to the residents of the City of Millville at a reasonable rate, which hasn't changed since 1992.  Through the diligence and hard work of the utility's 15 employees, we provide an average 4.4 million gallons of water a day.  Our service is provided without interruption 7 days a week. 365 days a year.  The Water Utility is supplied by groundwater pumped from nine wells.  The wells are in the Kohansey / Kirkwood aquifer.  Their depths range from 120 to 320 feet.  The water quality is very good and therefore the treatment process at the utility creates exceptional drinking water.

The distribution system totals more than 100 miles of water mains with more than 800 fire hydrants.  Some of Millville's original distribution system that was installed in 1880 still provides some service.  Millville's utility personnel repair all leaks, install replacement services and install and repair water meters, as well as controlling all aspects of water treatment.  Our distribution crew also has the ability to make taps up to 12".  An adequate stock of materials is always available for emergencies.
