Rescue Squad
The Millville Rescue Squad has evolved from an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization into an emergency medical response organization with a seven member Board of Directors, a paid Executive Director and 80 full-time and 25 part-time paid Emergency Medical Technicians. The Squad staff is assisted by the ten active volunteers members. Until late 1995, the Rescue squad operated totally on a volunteer basis at no charge. The Squad has since initiated a subscription plan service with third party billing. The fleet consists of 32 ambulance vehicles and one rescue boat. The Squad answers over 3,500 emergency calls annually which are dispatched from the Cumberland County 911 Center, and makes approximately 25,000 non-emergency transports annually.
