Holly City Striders
Looking forward to meeting new friends and keeping or getting in shape - - - - then the Holly City Striders Walking Club may be the answer for you. The adult only (18 years of age or older) walking club began eight years ago, and is still going strong, each September through May. This years season will begin on Monday, September 14th, at Lakeside School, Sharp Street in Millville.

Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, adults can walk through the hallways to get exercise in a clean and safe indoor walking venue. The idea was originally thought of by then Commissioner, now Mayor, Tim Shannon. The school (Lakeside) was open in the evenings for cleaning and the thought to have a walking club at the same time was arranged by the Millville Recreation Department with the blessing of the Millville Board of Education and the mutual agreement was formed.

Joe and Alice Wood are both seniors who monitor the club. All it takes is to be of age, in good health, and you can walk every night its available, or only the nights you feel like, and the best part its free.
